Kirk Franklin Biography

Kirk Franklin is a famous American choir director, songwriter, and gospel singer best known for his urban contemporary gospel choir songs. Some of his great projects are, God’s property, One Nation Crew, among many others.

In addition, Kirk won several awards including 15 Grammy Awards. Franklin is often titled the “ruling King of Urban Gospel”.

Born in Fort Worth, Texas, Franklin was brought up by his aunt, Gertrude after his mother abandoned him as a baby. She recycled aluminum cans to put food on the table and also earn little for Kirk to have piano lessons from the age of four.
